EDDIE NOYES, PE 0 ACTIVE ALARMS

EN.PROFILE  RUNNING  Columbia, South Carolina

Eddie Noyes, PEControl systems engineer. Co-founder, ICS Automated.

I design and build the SCADA, networks, and cybersecurity behind water and wastewater plants across South Carolina. Before any of that, I spent a decade running live sound. What I'm best at is troubleshooting: asking the right questions to break a problem down into steps you can actually test. I like tinkering, and I'm always looking for the next thing to figure out as the technology changes.

EN.ABOUT

The short version

I'm a licensed PE in South Carolina and a co-founder of ICS Automated, a control systems integrator for water and wastewater utilities. I'm the HMI and networking guy: legacy HMI migrations to VTScada and Ignition, alarm notification operators can trust, plant networks with real segmentation, and backups that actually restore.

What I'm best at is troubleshooting. Asking the right questions to turn "it just stopped working" into a short list of things we can test, in order, until one of them is the answer.

Before engineering I spent ten years running live sound, which is a longer story and has its own page.

Off the clock there's a Proxmox box full of VMs named after planets, a hydroponic tower on the porch, a few drones I built, two 3D printers, a pellet grill running a PID loop I tuned myself, and a set of arcade games that run inside SCADA software. Two big dogs, Koda and Quba, supervise all of it.

That's all on the lab page. The resume is on work.

Get in touch

If you run a water or wastewater plant and your HMI is older than your newest operator, I'd like to hear about it. Same if you want to talk hydroponics, VTScada, or how to get a Proxmox VM to stop doing the thing.

Based in Columbia, SC. ICS Automated's office is in Greenville.
